THE DOORS

When we were looking for information about our project - music in California - , we discovered “ The Doors “. They were ( and are ) one of the most popular bands in this area. This band is surrounded by a myth. They always did what they want, not thinking of the results. That was a problem for the american society, because their shows were agressiv. So in somes states the concerts weren't allowed.

Here's some information about The Doors:

THE DOORS were founded by JIM MORRISON and RAY MANZAREK in 1965. They started in small clubs along the sunset strip in Los Angeles; singing blues and rock, and developing their own style. Their lyrics, murky mixtures of morbid themes, were controversial and sometimes brought them problemes with club owners. The single, “ Light my fire“, was an instant smash-hit. In 1969 they were on their musical climax, but the result of it was that there were many problems. In 1971 Jim Morrison died . So the band was distributed in Kriegers and Densmores “Butts Band“ and Manzarek, who tried to sing solo.

This band showed the youth all over the world , that there are no more tabus for them !
